Tubby

James timber wolf/husky registered puppy Wa'Ya aka "Tubby" 2 months old. He was named when we bought him and along the way I knicknamed him Tubalupacous.

Tubby has had a hard start living with us, at first we could not take him anywhere in the pickup as he got carsick so it was no fun cleaning up after him, even on short trips to try and get him use to being driven

When we were still living in Georgia, I could not find him as he kept close to home and from birth was not chained up, so we followed suit at left him free. I went looking for him and found him on the other side of the road laying in the long grass where someone had hit him with their car and the impact had tossed him. His back leg was scraped up pretty bad. There was a man gathering wood nearby and I asked him to help me pick up Tubby and lay him in on the bed of the pickup that I had gone back to the house to drive down to where he was just opposite our driveway.

I felt his bones to see if there was anything broken but could not detect any breaks. All I could do was wait and see and nurse and coach him outside to potty which he hobbled out on 3 legs. About 3 days later he was hopping around on 3 legs and this went on for about a month as his back leg got stronger and he stopped limping altogether after about 3 months. He may have had a near hip dislocation but being young it came right.

When we moved to North Carolina in July 2010 within the first week Dakota the neighbour hood bully alpha dog charged and hurt Tubby when he must have ventured into what Dakota considered 'his territory'. Tubby was limping again and even though his intitial injuries from this tangle with Dakota have long healed, Tubby still walks with a slight limp and may have this for a long time. It does not seem to bother his running and getting around but I notice his muscle growth on his left side is not as formed as his right side.

Damon and Tubby 2 March 2010

On Saturday 21 January 2011 Tubby went missing from our property. James and I believe it is the same scum-bag whom has taken Koda and Damon

Tubby was always hanging out with Jake our neighbour Junebug's young pitbul cross dog and Daisy our Britney Spaniel. They got on really well with each other and firm friends.
Tubby was wearing his 'neon green' collar and brand new Name tag, with his name 'Tubby Shaver' address and phone number engraved on it. We have not heard from anyone whom might have seen him, or picked him up!
