Brittany/Field Spaniel mix Puppies

Miss Daisy, our Brittany had her first and only litter of puppies on 14 February 2011. Two males and 3 females, two black and whites and 3 black with some white somewhere on their bodies e.g. under their bellies, or paw, neck and one with white tip tail...

Their father is our neighbours Field Spaniel alpha dog who is solid black with maybe a shot of white, not sure.

Two weeks old and I tried to get individual and color group but they were so squirmy I could not get a good photo. Their eyes are still not open.

We nicknamed them - Bunny, Bear and Tippy.

Two black and white Females, the biggest and last to be born. We nicknamed them Missy on the left and Moppet on the right.

Bear, Tippy (white tip on his tail) and Bunny (the smallest)

Saturday March 12 2011

Puppies first solid meal. On the menu, homemade chicken, wild rice and carrots.
Puppies are 4 weeks old and Daisy is avoiding them more and more as she is slowly weaning down to a few quick sips per day as the puppies manage to quickly attach themselves as she is cleaning up after them. Then you see her walking away with one or two still attached until they fall off!! so funny to see this.

Sunday March 13 2011 (1st day of Daylight savings)

They are more aware of what is in the dish this time and good to eat. All in together and push!
Puppies will be ready in a couple of weeks to be adopted out. 3 Females and 2 males.
James is talking about keeping one of the puppies but I am still not sure about that - Potting training etc!!!

Monday 26 March

Puppies are six weeks and our young neighbour loves to come over to play with them which also helps to socialise with someone else other than me. They were all having such a lovely time climbing all over her and a wonderful time was had by all, by all the giggling and laughing!
Today 28 March they also all got their 5 way injections and wormed a week prior 22 March so all protected now.
2nd worming 8 April and a follow up on the 13th as one was still not fully flushed out and did not want to reinfect the others. I was not sure which puppy ..

Bunny, the runt of the litter, who looked like a 'lop-eared bunny rabbit', Photo taken on the washing machine so I could get a photo up close. 9 April

Tippy with his white tipped tail and the old man out. He has smooth short haired coat with a sharper snout than his siblings and also kind of the 'guard dog' protector.
